At our lodge, we understand that great food is an essential part of your wilderness experience. That’s why we take pride in offering a mouthwatering selection of home-cooked meals that will leave you craving for more. From hearty breakfasts to sumptuous dinners and delightful desserts, we’ve got your culinary desires covered. For our fishermen the meals below are served buffet-style, and, for the most part, are all you can eat, ensuring that you leave the table fully satisfied.
Lunches
Alongside our breakfast and dinner offerings, we offer the convenience of preparing your own sack lunches each day. Customize your lunch with options like PBJ, three lunch meat choices, cheese, cookies, and fresh apples and oranges. You may also opt for one shore lunch included during your stay. For multiple shore lunches, kindly notify us well in advance, as additional charges may apply if we don’t have enough notice.
Saturday of Arrival
Pulled Pork: Tender and flavorful pulled pork served with coleslaw, potato salad, and a side of either potato chips or baked beans.
Rice Krispie Treat: Enjoy a big freshly made – Chewy, gooey, and oh-so-delicious treat.
Sunday
French Toast: Thick slices of bread soaked in batter and cooked to golden perfection.
Spaghetti: A classic Italian favorite served with garlic bread and a fresh garden salad.
Wacky Coco Cake: A rich chocolatey cake layered with a smooth and sweet Cool Whip finish.
Monday
Pancakes and Ham: Fluffy pancakes paired with savory ham.
Taco Bar: Create your own giant tacos with a variety of toppings and fillings, served on 10 or 12-inch tortilla shells. Customize to your heart’s content for the perfect taco experience. Alternatively, you can opt for a taco salad or nacho platter if you prefer. Chips and salsa are also available as an optional addition to this meal.
Churro Bars: Bite-sized delights with a golden, crispy exterior, coated in cinnamon sugar and bursting with sweet, doughy goodness in every bite.
Tuesday
Eggs and Bacon: Classic breakfast staples cooked to perfection, or create your own personalized breakfast sandwich with eggs, bacon, and cheese on a toasted English muffin.
Walleye Cheezers: We serve walleye on Tuesdays, and when it’s Walleye Cheezers night, you’re in for a treat. These famous sandwiches, a Black Bear Lodge Guest Favorite created by Jim and a guest many years ago, are so beloved that guests often request a second helping. They come served with a side of crispy chips, making it a meal you won’t forget.
Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie: Treat yourself to a giant homemade cookie – A classic favorite with a delightful twist.

Thanksgiving-Style Turkey Dinner: Immerse yourself in a festive atmosphere with our Wednesday dinner. Indulge in a Thanksgiving-style feast featuring succulent turkey slices, piping hot mashed potatoes, and savory gravy, along with sweet corn. You have the option to savor it in the traditional manner with each item served separately, or you can partake in a camp favorite, the “volcano,” where everything is piled up on a piece of bread with gravy pouring over the top. It’s a heartwarming meal that brings the comfort of holiday gatherings to your wilderness experience.
Homemade Cream Puffs: Treat yourself to – Light and airy pastries filled with luscious cream and drizzled with chocolate.
Thursday
Pancakes and Ham: Fluffy pancakes paired with savory ham.
Hibachi: Join us for a delicious hibachi-style dinner featuring teriyaki chicken served over perfectly cooked fried rice. The meal is complemented by a classic Caesar Salad served as a side. It’s a flavorful and satisfying dining experience that will transport you to the lively hibachi grills of your favorite Japanese restaurant.
Pineapple Upside Down Cake: A golden, tender cake crowned with a layer of caramelized pineapple rings and sweet cherries, baked to perfection.
Friday
Eggs and Bacon: Classic breakfast staples cooked to perfection, or create your own personalized breakfast sandwich with eggs, bacon, and cheese on a toasted English muffin.
Steak: Savor an 8oz New York Strip steak, cooked to your liking, accompanied by a soft baked potato with the option of butter and sour cream. In addition, you’ll be treated to a deluxe salad that perfectly complements your steak. It’s a Friday night delight that will satisfy your appetite and leave you with a smile.
Ice Cream Sundae Bar: Enjoy your choice of creamy vanilla or rich chocolate ice cream, and top it off with a variety of mix-ins including cake pieces, chocolate chips, candy bites, and caramel topping. Build your own perfect sundae for a sweet and satisfying treat!
